2012 Player Qualification/Classification

Please read the criteria carefully. If you have ANY questions please do not leave it until the last minute. Players that do not qualify WILL NOT be permitted to play. Or the team may be bumped to a higher division without notice. The higher entry fee will be due immediately. If you wish to have your status changed, you must apply to the CPPL directly for re-classification.

X-ball addendum: Any player who has played in any organized Xball league (in the highest division) anytime in their career is automatically classified a D1 player in the CPPL. Any player who has played a division one step down from the top division in a organized Xball league anytime in their career is automatically classified a D2 player in the CPPL. Regular player points still apply for all other events where a winning team is determined at a normal event. The D2 rule will be given select exceptions at the beginning of 2011. All players must apply for reclassification though. There will be no exceptions for Division 1 players.

This classification system has been used successfully in the BCPPL for many years and is fair and equitable. The CPPL is proud to carry on this system as it truly provides the most fair and equal chance for all players to have success. If you don't understand it, please just register for your card and we will figure out the rest for you. Make sure your team registers early as it is every captains responsibility to ensure your team is qualified for the selected division!

Division 4 This division includes all 1st year CPPL Series tournament players. Players who have played in Division 3 or higher in any paintball tournament in their entire career (prior to Jan 1st of the current season) are not eligible to play Division 4.

Division 4 This is for 1st year teams only.

Total allowable team accumulated player points are as follows:

5 man – Maximum 60 Player Points Permitted

7 man – Maximum 80 Player Points Permitted

Division 3 This is a beginner or recreational division.

Total allowable team accumulated player points are as follows:

5 man – Maximum 175 Player Points Permitted
7 man – Maximum 225 Player Points Permitted

Division 2 this division would include all players that do not meet the Div 3 status.

Total allowable team accumulated player points are as follows:

5 man – Maximum 400 Player Points Permitted
7 man – Maximum 450 Player Points Permitted

DIVISION 1 This division would include all other players.
A player of any level may play DIVISION 1 INCLUDING 2 NPPL/PSP PRO Players.

Players must disclose all career history tournament placing/winnings in their application for membership. Failure to do so will result in you not being permitted to play CPPL events for up to two years.

We use a points classification system for all players

A D4 player should have less than 10 points
A D3 player should have 35 points or less
A D2 player should have 80 points or less
A D1 player has over 80 points

If you have not played the CPPL in a few years, but have played in other leagues, you still have points.
For example a MXL player (D2) has no less than 80 points. A CXBL player (D1) has no less than 90 points.

Points will be calculated by the CPPL for total player points in the following manner:

Player ranking points are earned as follows and include series rankings as a placing:

(Division I) 35 points for first place;

(Division I) 30 points for second place;

(Division I) 25 points for third place;

(Division II) 20 points for first place;

(Division II) 15 points for second place;

(Division II) 15 points for third place;

(Division III) 15 points for first place;

(Division III) 10 points for second place;

(Division III) 05 points for third place;

(Division IIII) 10 points for first place;

(Division IIII) 10 points for first place;

(Division IIII) 05 points for third place;

The player point calculations will be determined by the CPPL. If you are unsure of which division to play, the easiest way to find out if your team qualifies is to have all of your players register for their CPPL player cards, and we will inform you. You can e-mail us anytime info@thecppl.com with questions.

Please make sure you are sure that everyone on your roster registers online early! If you add a player last minute at the event and your team does not qualify for the particular division the CPPL reserves it's right to bump you to a higher division without notice to your team. The higher entry fee will be due immediately, and there will be a $200.00 administrative for printing charges to change the schedules and score boards. All entry fees and CPPL membership fees are non-refundable.

The CPPL reserves it's right to make adjustments and exceptions through the transition to our new system. Please let us know if you have any concerns or questions at the event.
